Who's on my friends list???
I always struggle to remember names... and with live journal (and much of the rest of the internet) it's even worse, since user names are usually nothing related to a persons real name. I meet so many people, and I try hard to remember them... in fact, I first started formulating the plan for the bio/photo system of our Mad Lab Rabbit program at a Balticon years back, talking to fans in our Pop Tart Cafe about wishing I could remember their names from one year to the next.
So I'm stealing this idea from my friend

theadana, who has a single unlocked post (dated 10 years in the future so it always sorts on top) where she asks people to leave a comment on that post if they want to be added to her friends list.
If you want me to add you to my friends list, so you can read my posts, please leave a comment on this post that let's me know who you are and how I know you. If I don't know you, but you know me, that's ok - just tell me that in your post and let me know how you know me. If you have an icon that is an actual picture of you, please use that one on your reply! You don't have to give your real name, if you don't want to, but leave me something that helps me translate your lj user name into your name in real life, so when I'm reading my friends list, and reading your posts, I can come back here to figure out who you are again. Thanks!
